Vision Acuity Self-Test

Vision Acuity Self-Test

An informational tool to estimate your distance vision.

How to Take the Test

This test simulates a Snellen eye chart to give you an estimate of your visual acuity. For the most accurate result, please follow these steps carefully.

  1. Position Yourself: Measure and stand exactly 10 feet (about 3 meters) away from your screen. The test is calibrated for this distance.
  2. Prepare for the Test: If you wear glasses or contact lenses for distance vision, keep them on.
  3. Test One Eye at a Time: You will test your right eye first. Cover your left eye completely with your hand without applying pressure.
  4. Read the Chart: When the test begins, lines of letters will appear. Read each line aloud. Click "Next Line" to continue until you can no longer read a line clearly.

Disclaimer: This is not a substitute for a professional eye exam. It does not test for eye diseases like glaucoma or diabetic retinopathy. See an optometrist for a comprehensive evaluation.
