Portfolio Best Practices

Use these tips to ensure your portfolio stands out to recruiters and admissions officers.

1. The "Above the Fold" Rule

Recruiters spend about 6 seconds deciding if they want to read more. Ensure your Name, Role/Major, and Contact Info are visible immediately without scrolling.

2. Quality Over Quantity

Include 3-5 of your best projects rather than 10 mediocre ones. For each project, clearly state: The Problem, Your Role, and The Outcome.

3. Resume Consistency

Your portfolio styling (fonts, colors) should visually match your resume. This creates a cohesive "Personal Brand."

4. Call to Action (CTA)

Don't make them hunt for your contact info. Put a clear "Contact Me" or "Download Resume" button in the navigation and footer.

Check off items as you complete them. The Dashboard will update automatically.
