Print Bleed Calculator

This calculator helps you determine the correct size for your design file, including bleed, to ensure professional print results without white edges.

  • Final Trimmed Size: The exact dimensions of your finished print product (e.g., 3.5 x 2 inches for a business card).
  • Bleed: An extra margin of your design that extends beyond the trim edge. This gets cut off, ensuring color goes to the very edge.

1. Final Trimmed Dimensions

2. Bleed Standard

This is the amount added to ONE side (e.g., if you enter 0.125, it adds 0.125 to left, right, top, bottom).

Important Printing Tips:

  • Always ensure your **backgrounds and images extend fully into the bleed area**.
  • Keep **important text and graphics within the 'safe zone'** (usually 0.125-0.25 inches *inside* the trim line) to avoid them being cut off.
  • When exporting your file, choose **PDF/X-1a** for best print results, and ensure 'trim marks' or 'crop marks' are selected, but *not* 'bleed marks' as the bleed is already part of your artwork.
