Instructions for Taking Your Photo
For the best analysis, please follow these guidelines:
- Wear form-fitting clothing to make it easier to see your body's landmarks (e.g., shoulders, hips, knees).
- Stand in a relaxed, natural posture. Don't try to "correct" your posture for the photo.
- Have someone else take the photo from about 6-10 feet away, with the camera at waist level.
- Use a plain, contrasting background if possible.
- Take photos from the Side, Front, and Back for a complete analysis. You can analyze one at a time with this tool.

Interpreting Your Posture
After annotating your photo in the 'Analyze' tab, compare your alignment to these ideal landmarks. This section will be included in your PDF report.
Ideal Side View Alignment:
A vertical plumb line should pass through:
- The earlobe
- The tip of the shoulder
- The center of the hip joint
- Slightly behind the kneecap
- Slightly in front of the ankle bone
Common Issues: Forward head posture (ear in front of the line), rounded shoulders (shoulder tip in front), or excessive pelvic tilt.
Ideal Front/Back View Alignment:
Use horizontal lines to check for symmetry:
- Are your shoulders level?
- Are the tops of your hip bones (iliac crests) level?
- Are your knees and ankles level?
Common Issues: One shoulder higher than the other, a tilted pelvis, or discrepancies in leg length.
