Calculate the precise pleat depth for your drapery or curtain project. Enter your fabric measurements and desired fullness to get detailed calculations and visualization.
Step 1: Select Pleat Type
Choose the type of pleat you want to create. Different pleat styles require different fabric calculations.
Single Pleat
The simplest pleat style. Each pleat is created with a single fold in the fabric.
Double Pleat
Two pleats are grouped together to create a fuller, more elegant appearance.
Box Pleat
Folds face away from each other, creating a box-like shape in between.
Step 2: Enter Measurements
Provide the measurements for your project. All measurements should be in the same unit (inches or centimeters).

Tips for Perfect Pleats
For heavier fabrics, consider using a larger pleat depth to ensure pleats hang properly.
When working with patterned fabric, ensure your pleat spacing takes the pattern repeat into account.
The standard spacing between pleats is typically 4-6 inches for most curtains and draperies.
For a more tailored look, use a lower fullness ratio (1.5-2×). For a fuller, more luxurious appearance, use a higher ratio (2.5-3×).
Always add extra fabric for hems, headers, and returns when calculating your total fabric requirements.
