This calculator provides a general estimation of insulin dosage using common formulas used in diabetes management education. It should not replace professional medical advice.
- Enter your current blood sugar level (mg/dL).
- Set your target blood sugar (default is 100 mg/dL).
- Input your Total Daily Insulin Dose (TDD), which is typically prescribed by your healthcare provider.
- Set your Insulin Sensitivity Factor (ISF) — how much 1 unit of insulin lowers your blood sugar.
- Enter the amount of carbs you plan to eat in grams.
- Set your Insulin to Carb Ratio (ICR) — how many grams of carbs are covered by 1 unit of insulin.
