What are Factors?
Factors are numbers that divide evenly into another number. For example, the factors of 12 are 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, and 12 because each of these numbers divides 12 without a remainder.
Prime Factorization
Prime factorization is the process of finding which prime numbers multiply together to make the original number. For example, the prime factorization of 12 is 2² × 3.
Greatest Common Divisor (GCD)
The GCD is the largest positive integer that divides each of the given integers without a remainder. For example, the GCD of 12 and 18 is 6.
Least Common Multiple (LCM)
The LCM is the smallest positive integer that is divisible by all of the given integers. For example, the LCM of 4 and 6 is 12.
