How to Use the ETF Data Viewer & Analyzer

This tool helps you view, filter, sort, and compare ETF data that you provide.

1. Data Format:

Paste your ETF data into the textarea on the "ETF Data & Screener" tab. Each ETF should be on a new line, with values separated by commas in the following order:

TICKER,ETF_NAME,ASSET_CLASS,GEOGRAPHIC_FOCUS,EXPENSE_RATIO(%),AUM,YEAR_TO_DATE_RETURN(%)

  • TICKER: The stock symbol for the ETF (e.g., VOO, NIFTYBEES.NS).
  • ETF_NAME: The full name of the ETF (e.g., Vanguard S&P 500 ETF).
  • ASSET_CLASS: The primary asset class (e.g., US Equity Large Cap, Indian Fixed Income, Global Commodity).
  • GEOGRAPHIC_FOCUS: The main geographic region the ETF targets (e.g., USA, India, Global, Emerging Markets).
  • EXPENSE_RATIO (%): The ETF's expense ratio as a percentage. Enter the number only (e.g., for 0.05%, enter 0.05).
  • AUM (Assets Under Management): The total assets managed by the ETF. Enter as a number. You will specify the unit (e.g., Millions USD, Crores INR) in a separate field. Be consistent with the unit for all entries.
  • YEAR_TO_DATE_RETURN (%): The YTD return as a percentage. Enter the number only (e.g., for 7.2%, enter 7.2).

The world of Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs) offers investors incredible flexibility and diversification, spanning across various asset classes, regions, and investment strategies. However, with thousands of ETFs available, each with its own unique characteristics—from expense ratios and assets under management (AUM) to historical returns and underlying holdings—identifying the most suitable funds for your specific investment goals can be an overwhelming task. Relying on pre-defined screens might not capture the nuances of your particular research needs or allow you to use your own curated data. This is where the User-Provided ETF Data Viewer & Analyzer on WorkTool.com becomes an indispensable resource, empowering you to screen and analyze ETF data precisely how you need it.

Our User-Provided ETF Data Viewer & Analyzer puts you in complete control by allowing you to input your own customized ETF data. This means you’re not limited to a generic database; instead, you can work with the exact information that is relevant to your research or watchlist. You’ll input details for each ETF in a clear, structured format including its TICKER, NAME, ASSET CLASS, REGION, EXPENSE RATIO (%), AUM (%), 1YR RETURN (%), 3YR RETURN (%), and 5YR RETURN (%). This comprehensive data input ensures that your analysis is as thorough and personalized as possible, enabling you to bring in data from any source you trust and use it within the tool.

Once your ETF data is loaded, the true power of the tool comes to life with its robust filtering and sorting capabilities. You can quickly refine your list of ETFs based on multiple criteria. For example, you can filter by “Asset Class” (e.g., Global Equity, Fixed Income) or “Region Focus” to narrow down funds that align with your geographic or asset-type preferences. More importantly, you can apply numerical filters to pinpoint funds that meet your financial thresholds. Set a “Max Expense Ratio (%)” to avoid costly funds, define a “Min AUM” to ensure sufficient liquidity, or specify a “Min 1YR Return (%)” to focus on recent strong performers. These powerful filters help you cut through the noise and zero in on the ETFs that truly meet your specific investment criteria.

The ability to input your own data and then apply these powerful filters offers unparalleled flexibility for serious ETF research. Whether you’re conducting due diligence on a new set of funds, tracking a specific watchlist, or looking for ETFs that meet unique qualitative and quantitative criteria, this tool provides the analytical horsepower without the need for complex spreadsheets or expensive subscriptions. It enables you to compare selected ETFs side-by-side once filtered, allowing for a streamlined evaluation process. This isn’t just about screening; it’s about providing a customizable environment for in-depth ETF analysis.

For both seasoned financial professionals and self-directed investors, the User-Provided ETF Data Viewer & Analyzer on WorkTool.com is an essential resource for making more informed and data-driven ETF investment decisions. It transforms raw ETF data into actionable insights, helping you to efficiently identify, compare, and select the funds that are best suited to achieve your personal investment objectives.
